Program Overview – Central Services
The IT Asset Management Assistant plays a vital support role within the Central Services – IT department, working under the guidance of IT Account Managers. This position involves day-to-day operational duties related to the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring hardware is accurately tracked, maintained, and decommissioned as needed. The role requires hands-on involvement in asset tagging, inventory audits, physical equipment moves, and database updates.
The incumbent of this position performs tasks of a confidential nature. This includes information regarding staff, clients, and management. Success in this role depends on strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a dynamic work environment.

What You Will Do
- Assist with inventory tagging and regular updates to the asset management database
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of IT storage areas
- Collaborating with IT Account Managers in the removal and decommissioning of end-of-life IT assets
- Support the team in responding to and fulfilling internal client requests related to IT hardware
- Ensure an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including physical tagging and recordkeeping
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data in the asset management system
- Support the full IT asset lifecycle—from acquisition and deployment to maintenance and disposal
- Participate in physical moves, equipment deliveries, and secure disposal of outdated or nonfunctional hardware
- Community College/Business College Diploma or equivalent, completed or in progress
- Familiarity with asset management principles
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good oral and writing skills in English
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience in IT administration or asset management is an asset, and development
